Resumo

This dissertation deals with the insertion of Kanamari on the Bolsa Família program. I propose to reflect about aspects involving the Kanamari people, specifically, those found in the Indigenous Land called Javari Valley, at the border of Brazil with Peru. The main objective is to understand how public policies of income transfer streamline the Kanamari's mobility to Atalaia do Norte/ AM and influence their staying at the edge of the town. Through an overview of the State's actions, since the creation of SPI in 1910 until the present days, with the creation of institutions focused on indigenous peoples, it is realized an ethnography of the insertion of the Kanamari people on the Bolsa Família Program (PBF). It is noticed that the current policies of the Federal Government did not break with projects that have been done throughout history, and that, and the more the income transfer programs constitute in projects that are intended to cover the demands of indigenous peoples, unlike also, it generate a new and complex situation for these people and the institutions involved.
