Resumo
Fishing in the State of Amazonas, as in other Amazonian states and countries
have cultural, ecological, social and economic. In economics, as in any business
activity, investment demand, operating costs and aims to generate positive returns in
the form of profit. This paper presents an overview of the economic performance of
artisanal commercial fishing fleet in the state of Amazonas, qualifying and quantifying
the fleet, exploited species, fish production, operating markets and economic indicators
related to operability: investments, variable costs and fixed prices commercialization of
production, revenue generated, profitability and rates of return, income generated and
the influence of the seasonal flood pulse envelopes these variables. The fleet was
divided into five strata, resulting five models that describe the influences of capture,
price, variable costs, fixed costs and seasonality on operating profit. In these, only the
capture and price were statistically significant, pointing to a clearing. In the winter period
(December to May), there is a reduction in fish production, which reduces the supply of
fish in the market, causing a rise in the price / kg, while the opposite occurred in the
summer (June-November), during which noted the occurrence of economic loss. To
demonstrate this behavior, simulations were performed influence of the variation in price
and capturing three species exploited, pointing senáios and proposals to mitigate the
economic damage, combining measures to support the maintenance of operating
income and conservation of fishery resources in the state.
