Programas de transferência de renda e questão social: o programa bolsa família no contexto das comunidades ribeirinhas do Amazonas

Abstract

The Bolsa Família Program has been an important strategy for combating poverty in Brazil. Since its emergence, millions of families have benefited from financial resources to meet their most urgent basic needs. In this study, we sought to look at the Amazonian reality, especially in riverside communities based on the Bolsa Família Program. Thus, the study aimed to analyze the implementation of the Bolsa Família Program in rural riverside communities in the municipality of Barreirinha/AM, considering the expressions of the social issue in the Amazonian context, aiming to contribute to the municipal management of the PBF, as well as to the beneficiary families. , given the challenges and difficulties of the region. In relation to methodological procedures, this is an explanatory type of research, with a qualitative approach, through field research. The research subjects (key informants) were three (03) professionals who worked in the management of the PBF in the municipality of Barreirinha/AM (locus of study) between 2013-2019; and twenty (20) PBF beneficiary families living in Agrovila do Caranã, a rural area in the municipality of Barreirinha/AM. The study covered a total of twenty-three (23) participants. In relation to the main results, it is possible to say that implementing the PBF in riverside communities is a constant challenge, especially when considering the geographical difficulties present in the region. Access to food can be highlighted as the main effects that the PBF brought to riverside families, followed by access to education, health services and material goods. It was noted that the PBF has not been able to meet all basic needs, but has been contributing to their relief within families. Finally, implementing the PBF in the Amazon context means understanding that it must be thought of based on regional particularities, considering the difficulties and challenges of the region.
