Resumo

This essay addresses the Biosafety of Health Professionals in the Care of Tuberculosis in Health School Center of Marco and the UMS Jurunas. Aimed to evaluate the knowledge and perception of health workers about the conduct of biosafety and biosecurity hear appeals in TB adopted by the Centers for Health. This is a qualitative observational study, taking as a tool for data collection, the application of the interview for the professionals working in the TB program of those units and the observation of the environments of the units that care for TB patients. Took part of this research ten professionals, six of them from Marco Center School and four from the UMS. The data collected was used to analyze the content, allowing the construction of categories, establishing links between the observation’s environments and the demonstrations on the subject related by biosecurity in TB. Measures were described and analyzed by biosafety management, environmental and respiratory involving the units of this study. It was found that the transmissibility of the disease assumes greater relevance in the UMS due the delay in starting treatment, lack of organization in attendance in addition of the lack of respiratory protection measures that may increase the possibility of nosocomial TB transmission between patients and other professionals workers on that health units. The Center School of Marco has in its architectural structure biosecurity conditions in tuberculosis, given the recommendations adopted in Brazil. The spaces where patients are attended have adequate ventilation with windows and doors always opened. Because the treatment of tuberculosis has been performed in outpatient clinics, it is essential that facilities should be appropriate to attendance decreasing the risk of transmission to other professionals and patients. Emphasize the urgent need for changes in the working environment at UMS and permanent training.
