Transferência de conhecimentos e tecnologias na área de fitocosméticos no Estado do Amazonas: perspectivas e desafios

Abstract

The process of transfering technology has proven to be important for the social and economic development in developing countries, especially when considering technologies to add value to natural resources so as to promote consolidation and installation of production sites and commercialization. With so many natural resources in the Amazon, initiatives related to cosmetics, toiletries and perfumes production that are made of components derived from the Amazon has been presented as an alternative to sustainable development in the state. In this context, this thesis aimed to analyze the transfer technology mechanisms adopted by phytocosmetic companies together with promoting knowledge institutions installed in the state. Working specific objectives aimed to: identify and characterize companies and research institutions that works in phytocosmetic area in the State of Amazonas; identify types of knowledge being produced and transferred among identified stakeholders; and understand the mechanisms used by the actors involved , to carry out transfer technology. The research is a qualitative type, and the method used was a case study. The data collection instruments were questionnaires and semi-structured interviews. The work was divided into five chapters being (i) introduction, (ii) theoretical framework, (iii) methodology (iv) results and discussions (v) conclusion. It was observed that there are currently fifteen small business phytocosmetic installed in Manaus and use basic production technology. These companies have differentiated levels of technical and organizational skills. There are partnerships between businesses and some institutions that promote knowledge in the state, and mostly informal mechanisms for transfer technology are used. Despite the favorable market scenario phytocosmetic to small business, the challenges are enormous. It is necessary that most of the institutions that promote knowledge and state public policies take effort to promote effective transfer technology to the segment, but for this, it will be necessary to standardize organizational skills or propose different actions for each specific need.
