Resumo
Financial mathematics will accompany the citizen throughout his adult life, but first
contact occurs in high school, and that is exactly why it should be done in the fullest
possible way. This paper looks at the needs that ordinary people have for the
application of the concepts of financial mathematics, especially looking at the young
high school in order to produce knowledge that accompanies the future years. As the
objective is to bring a new methodology for teaching-learning process to the study of
financial mathematics idealizing a greater approximation of the student to the theme,
we sought to produce a work with an accessible language, a construction of
reasoning that remote from the mathematical tools more basic that are required,
thematic examples of different degrees of difficulty, contextualizing with the historical
evolution of the theme and conceptualizing what is fundamental in the financial world.
In practical terms, the methodology proposed here in this project was applied to
students of the first year of the high school of the Matias Machline Foundation.
