Lazer e turismo: um estudo sobre os impactos do Festival Folclórico para o município de Benjamin Constant, Estado do Amazonas.

Abstract

Brazil is a country with excellent tourist potential, as it has a rich and diverse cultural heritage, each region has its own uniqueness and characteristics, this plurality gives the country the opportunity to grow and develop tourism as a way to promote and preserve its cultural wealth. In the case of Benjamin Constant, an Amazonian and border municipality, strategically located in the Amazon jungle and in a border region, a fact that in itself favors the development of tourism. The general objective of the dissertation is to reflect on the impacts of the Benjamin Folk Festival for the development of tourism and local development in the municipality of Benjamin Constant. Specifically, it sought to: a) Describe the history of the Benjamin Folk Festival from the socio-cultural process that contributed to its emergence; b) Identify the impacts of the Benjamin Folk Festival on the social, economic, cultural and political context in the municipality; c) Describe the potential and challenges of the Benjamin Folk Festival in the context of the development of Tourism in the municipality; d) Present a video of the Benjamin Folk Festival as a final product. The methodology of the study is based on the qualitative approach, choosing non-participant observation and semi-structured interviews as research techniques, which were used in the course of the research to obtain the data. The research results show that the city of Benjamin Constant has great potential for the development of tourism, in view of its location and natural and cultural attractions. However, it still goes through an administrative organization process, and it is necessary to have this organization first to then enhance its attractions. It also showed that the Benjamin Folk Festival stood out as an important component in the process of tourism development in the municipality, due to its tradition and structure, it has attracted people from different locations, who enter the municipality and use the services and products necessary for their permanence.
