Proposta de indicadores de desempenho para avaliar as contribuições do PIBIC na formação acadêmica e científica dos estudantes egressos no âmbito da Faculdade de Tecnologia da UFAM

Resumo

Facing a reality of constant change and competitiveness, new skills and competencies are required every day to operate in a diffuse and complex society. Scientific Initiation Programs are an excellent means of promoting and teaching scientific skills that will enable the achievement of these new competencies. However, it is important to monitor whether these programs have been achieving the expected goals with the available resources. Thus, this research aimed to propose performance indicators for evaluating the contributions of the Scientific Initiation Program in the academic and scientific training of students graduating from PIBIC at UFAM and within the scope of the Faculty of Technology of this Institution. To do so, it was necessary to map the data of the PIBIC of UFAM in the period from 2008 to 2018, characterizing the profile of the egresses of the Program of the courses at UFAM and at Faculty of Technology and the Faculty of Social Studies, making a comparison between the performance of PIBIC/PAIC egress students of Faculty of Technology and Faculty of Social Studies with those presented in the General Report of PIBIC (CNPq) in the period 2016-2018 and presenting the proposal of management indicators of evaluation of the Scientific Initiation of UFAM. The adopted methodology was the research through the exploratory and descriptive study, based on data collection through the application of an electronic form sent to the egresses of Scientific Initiation of FES and FT. The result was an outline of the development of PIBIC/PAIC, in the period in question, with the indication of the main characteristics of the undergraduate researchers. This has enabled the construction and validation of the performance indicators for monitoring Scientific Initiation actions. However, future studies might be directed towards a broader verification of other UFAM Units, and further, considering the perception of professors-advisors regarding scientific research for undergraduate students.
