Análise das ações do Planejamento Estratégico voltadas à melhoria da produtividade no IFAM: um estudo de caso com foco no ciclo PDCA

Abstract

It is known that enterprises need strategic direction to guide their activities in order to achieve their goals. However, it has been observed that the mere fact that an organization develop(ed) a strategic plan does not guarantee the effectiveness of achieving their long-term goals. In this sense, it is necessary to scientifically face inconsistencies between what is planned and what actually happens in day-to-day operations. And it is up to the production engineer, and other things, evaluate and promote corrections in the company's strategy and production systems. This research evaluate the effectiveness of the strategic planning actions aimed at improving the Federal Institute of Education, Science and Technology of Amazonas (IFAM)’s productivity, through a focused case study in the PDCA cycle - Plan, Do, Check and Act. For this goal, a qualitative and quantitative study were used, a case study method, uniqueness and restrospective (historical), exploratory, in which thoroughly we are going to investigate the strategy’s phenomenon aimed at improving productivity in the real context of Federal Institute of Amazonas, in the last three years (2012, 2013 and 2014), using as an analytical perspective planning cycle, execution, control and evaluation of the strategy. They used assources of institutional documents evidences (institutional strategic planning and management reporting of the respective years analyzed). Data analysis will be given by descriptive statistics, with absolute frequency calculation, relative and average, and inferential analysis. Thus, the results allow a thorough understanding of the strategy phenomenon within the IFAM, allowing to infer cause and effect of the success or failure of actions to improve productivity,considering the public sector’s specificities
