Abstract

This paper aims to understand the economic and social transformations since the reopening of BR-319 in the Democracia community in the municipality of Manicoré. The problem to be studied will be analyzed from the reopening of BR-319 and its influence on the lifestyle of residents of the Democracia community, located in the municipality of Manicoré. The study seeks to understand the mechanisms that interfere in social and economic development in the municipality of Manicoré from BR 319 and the ways of overcoming the social living conditions of families residing in the Democracy community told by the residents themselves. In order to select the study area, informal conversations and telephone contacts were made with people from the municipality who indicated the Democracia community as the place most affected by the reopening of BR-319. After these contacts, the community was chosen for study and then visits to Manicoré were made to meet the residents and community leaders. The study was developed through bibliographic research and data collection in the studied place. In the bibliographical study we used books, magazines and articles on the subject. In the documentary study, official information was sought from the municipal, state and federal public agencies. After the data collection for the scientific production of the work was done in two moments. The first of these - a first visit to the municipality of Manicoré in May 2018 to jointly request from the municipal bodies bibliographic and documentary materials about the municipality and the Democracy community to collaborate with the needs set forth in the project's specific objectives. To this end, primary and secondary sources will be consulted. This is intended to better understand the place studied and to deepen the study and reality of the place. From obtaining the data, it was possible to answer the questions made above the problematization and demonstrate how the residents have responded to the construction of the road and its reflections on their way of life.
