Resumo
The objective of this research was to investigate the teaching and learning of Portuguese language directed to Rural Education in schools in Manaus city in its Ecolinguistics reality. The specific objectives were to evaluate the participants individual experiences, reflecting on the teaching and learning of Portuguese Language in the context of Rural Education, valuing the territorial language; investigating how the Guidelines that guide Rural Education in the city of Manaus (MANAUS, 2017a) that are relative to the Portuguese language are practiced in the classroom and how to identify the possibilities of development and strengthening of teaching-learning according to the Ecolinguistics, considering the teachers' perspective. The theoretical support referring to Rural Education was based on Arroyo (2010) and Caldart (2004a; 2004b); the Ecolinguistics was based on Couto (2007 apud HAUGEN, 1972) and Sapir (1969); the teacher training was based on Borges (2014); the Guidelines that guide Rural Education in the city of Manaus were based in the CNE / CEB (BRASIL, 2002) resolution and in the PEE / AM - 2008-2018 (AMAZONAS, 2008) Amazonas State Education Plan. This research was a study based on the qualitative paradigm of an ethnographic nature (BORTONI-RICARDO, 2008; PROETTI 2005), using the case study (ANDRÉ, 2005; NISBET; WATT, 1978;) as a methodological reference. The contexts of the research were Escola Municipal São José and Escola Agrícola Rainha dos Apóstolos in the rural area of the city of Manaus. Four Portuguese Language teachers were the participants. Questionnaires interviews and classroom observation were the data generation instruments selected for the research. The results showed that the teaching and learning of the Portuguese language finds issues to be solved so that public polices can be implemented in the rural education context. Difficulties were evidenced in Portuguese language teaching practices that are in accordance with the rural reality in absence of an adequate teacher training, strategies and projects that respect local particularities, in addition to the school material that only contemplates urban education context which does not recognizes the rural reality. At the end of the work, possible pedagogical applications from this research are suggested, as well as suggestions for putting the curriculum into context in the rural area.
