Resumo
This dissertation records the findings of a field study carried out in 2023, whose
theme was teacher training, with a delimitation of the theme on the continued
training of Chemistry teachers. The problem question that guided the study was:
does continuing education have an impact on teaching practice? The justification
for carrying out suchan initiative lies in the importance of reflecting on the training
of Chemistry teachers and its continuity, as these are the agents, ultimately, esponsible for teaching this knowledge, which is essential for the entire society. The general objective of the research was to describe how continuing education, whether offered by the State or not, impacts chemistry teaching, based on the opinion of the subject's teachers. The research typified as descriptive and transversal, had a quantitative-qualitative approach and for its execution there was the application of a rubric on the impressions of Chemistry teachers regarding the impact of continued training on their teaching practice, a rubric for evaluating plans of third semester class of the classes in which the participants teach and a structured interview guide. The study took place in Santarém, PA, with 6 Chemistry teachers from the public high school network, in the second semester of 2023. The results showed that continued training is very impactful for Chemistry teaching, as it provides educational knowledge that brings positive results for students, as indicated by the teachers themselves. However, some of the teachers noticed that some of their needs and expectations were not met.
