Resumo

The present research deals with the "Symbolic Representations and Education of children in the community of Santo Antonio do Rio Tracajá in the city of Parintins / AM. Its main focus is to discuss and analyze the Caboclo-Riverside culture and education, through the symbolic representations of the crendices as educational process of the children of the community, characterizing the educational practices involved in family and community education that involves cultural and symbolic contents of the crendices, mapping children's activities, the main jokes in the web of social relations, in the family, and in their rural context that favor the assimilation of rules in the educational and cultural process in the community. Thus, we asked the following question: how the Cabocla-Riverside culture and education and its symbolic representations can be considered as an educational process for the children of the community of Santo Antônio do Rio Tracajá in the municipality of Parintins / AM ?. Higher education is not the one that has the school as its main responsibility for the transmission of knowledge, but above all, the education transmitted by oral tradition based on the culture of the social group. Within this context, the way of life of riparian communities, often based on a common law type, becomes a propitious field for studies on the relationship between culture and the formation of subjects, especially the child, who is in the process of development and socialization.
