Atlas de desenvolvimento humano em Manaus: uma análise da espacialização territorial na construção e apresentação de indicadores socioeconômicos em áreas urbanas

Abstract

The general objective of this dissertation was critically examine the spatial area of information in building and presentation of socioeconomic indicators in urban areas, with emphasis given to the Atlas of Development Human in Manaus. This required: discussing the use of spatial information mapped in the urban area grant as the understanding of social differentiation and the development of plans, policies and programs that take into account their reduction; objectively describe the main features of the Atlas of Development Human in Manaus, showing the main categories of indicators, the contrasts in urban areas and ways of presenting such contrasts and trace, based on the results of Manaus, a critical overview of the methodology underlying the development of HDI and the use of Human Development Units (UDHs) in scaling the quality of urban life. Regarding the methodology, you can highlight that on the nature, it is a qualitative research, study critical, despite the intense use of quantitative information in their preparation. It is a study on the use of socio-demographic data disaggregated city as a way to subsidize the planning of public policies aimed at improving living conditions in major Brazilian cities. At the end could infer that the information provided by UDHs helped draw a profile closer to the reality of the stage of human development achieved by the population of the city of Manaus. However, despite the advances, the UDHs still have many limitations to reflect the true situation of the socioeconomic data of the population. The Atlas could have assumed great importance, if the handling of the indicators were duly possible by the actions of public power. Despite not being UDHs clippings space official, such as those used by the IBGE, the Atlas brings consistent information on the specific conditions of each locality urban and rural. Although the Atlas be available on a site, still unable to democratize this information and make it available to the general population, and allow the implementation of actions aimed at improving the quality of life of Amazon citizens
