Gravidez na adolescência em Coari-Amazonas: uma perspectiva holística do fenômeno

Resumo

This article aims to holistically analyze the multifactorial phenomenon of adolescent pregnancy in the city of Coari, Amazonas, through a critical and sensitive reflection on the experiences and discourses of young mothers. Recognized as a complex and multifaceted issue, adolescent pregnancy still poses significant challenges, with repercussions on the educational, social, and emotional trajectories of teenagers. This qualitative, cross-sectional, and exploratory research adopts a holistic perspective and is grounded in Foucauldian Discourse Analysis, enabling an understanding of the effects of power-knowledge that permeate these experiences. Narrative and semi-structured interviews were conducted with adolescents aged 14 to 19. The findings reveal that the discovery of pregnancy causes subjective and social ruptures, highlighting not only the immaturity for exercising motherhood but also the intersection of vulnerabilities—such as socioeconomic precariousness, fragile family dynamics, and gaps in access to information about sexual and reproductive health. The repercussions of this process go beyond the individual sphere, resonating within family and social collectives and intensifying cycles of inequality. Understanding this phenomenon from an expanded and humanized perspective is essential for the development of more effective public policies that address not only prevention but also the reception and empowerment of adolescent girls and their support networks.
