Indústria 4.0: perspectivas para o Polo Industrial de Manaus

Resumo

This work studies the perspectives for the construction of an industry development policy that fits the requirements of the fourth industrial revolution in the Manaus Free Trade Zone. Therefore, its main objective is to investigate the drivers for the development of Industry 4.0 in the Manaus Industrial Pole - MIP, having as specific objectives: to identify which are the current public policies and related to the development of Industry 4.0; carry out a diagnosis with the companies installed in the MIP in relation to the current stage of development of Industry 4.0 and present proposals for the adoption of public policies for the transition to Industry 4.0 in the MIP. Based on the documentary data collected and on the diagnosis carried out with the companies – selected in the study sample that represent the main subsectors of the MIP considering revenue, investment and labor –, the analysis of the data collected through of survey research and gap analysis. The definition of the gap analysis method made it possible to identify the “current situation” of the industries and what they “should be”. In this method, the object studied is analyzed in order to highlight the gaps that prevent it from reaching the desired situation. The results show gaps in current public policy, such as gaps in expectations and governance to gaps in strategy and innovation infrastructure that hamper the development of advanced manufacturing in the region.
