Fonética e Fonologia preliminar da língua Omágua/Kambeba

Abstract

This work aims to study and describe preliminarily the the phonology of the Omágua / Kambeba language, belonging to the Tupi Trunk, Tupi - Guarani family, spoken by indigenous that are currently distributed in five villages in the state of Amazonas, Rio Solimões and Rio Negro. The study of the Omágua / Kambeba language contributes to the knowledge of Brazilian indigenous languages, especially to the languages of the Amazon region. This dissertation presents four chapters, conclusion and references. Descriptive linguistics is used and how all the elements of a language and their relations to each other function within the system. The phonetics and phonological description of the language follows basically the models of Pike (1947), Gleason (1978) and Katamba (1989), besides the postulates of Kenstowicz (1994) for analysis of the syllabic structure, and a study of the accent in simple words.
