Seleção de fornecedores em uma bioindústria utilizando abordagem multicritério

Abstract

The selection of suppliers is recognized as a strategic activity, as it is necessary to identify good suppliers for the supply chain. Each supply chain has its particularities, thus, the bioindustry production chain in Amazonas is characterized by using products from Amazonian biodiversity and biotechnology in its production processes. The difficulty faced by bio-companies is to identify good suppliers of inputs from Amazonian biodiversity to meet their industrial processes, for which an efficient and rational supplier selection model is, of course, desirable. Therefore, the objective of this work was to propose a multicriteria analysis model to support decision making for the selection of suppliers in a bioindustry. To this end, an empirical, descriptive and exploratory research was carried out, with a quantitative approach whose procedures adopted were bibliographic, documentary, field research, case study and operational research. The procedure for selecting suppliers was structured in five phases, the results of which indicated supplier A2, through individual methods, and A1, through combined methods, to be chosen. The use of fuzzy logic combined with SAW, TOPSIS and PROMETHEE II methods was necessary to deal with judgments under high uncertainty. The results of the individual and combined methods were compared, of which all methods were considered apt to solve the selection problem, however the fuzzy-MCDM methods were comparatively more complex. Due to the characteristics of the problem and the quality described in the literature, the Fuzzy-TOPSIS method for selecting suppliers of this nature is proposed.
