Abstract

The theme of this research study titled as: the URBAN ENVIRONMENT AND PERCEPTION: All live in the New Town Housing, Manaus / AM seeks to identify and understand the organization of urban space and ways to use existing resources in the set. Thus our goal is directed to the following objectives: identification of local areas, social groups and forms of use of resources, description of processes of social adaptability of the residents, and analysis of social and environmental perceptions of residents regarding the use resources, services and equipment locations. To present both the urban environment through the chronological history of the occupation in urban areas of Manaus, in addressing the broad laws, programs and housing projects in Brazil and Manaus. Other scenarios incorporated the topic of historical processes of co-occupation economic processes related to significant capital in the Amazon and that much influence the processes of urban occupation, but also converged for all urban-environmental problems identified and printed in Manaus today. As methodology we used for this study based on scientific and methodological techniques in the case study to the greater accuracy of data. However, to obtain these data we characterize diagnostic spot but also paid several visits to the application form, questionnaire and interviews with several records to substantiate the final considerations of this study. In addition, the survey document was essential to justify the comparisons on the testimonies of the residents regarding the current circumstances surrounding the life as a whole. As conclusions, saying that since the creation of the project until the delivery of several houses were identified environmental crimes. The social organization has observed positive and negative changes since the beginning of housing and level of satisfaction of respondents can be considered good among the majority of respondents. Our study showed that the houses, by their structure, are not comfortable before the film showing inadequate and lack of available land for yards. Among these are satisfactory, such as schools and trade, as the items that showed dissatisfaction are the service of water supply and sewage, the deficiency of public transport, leaving the maintenance of streets and avenues, the department of public lighting and security public. Have the environmental issues most concern narrated by the interviewees were directed about the green areas that are now sold by the SUHAB, sometimes they are damaged, are now household waste bucket. Finally, despite the many dissatisfactions experienced and described all residents are happy to have lived in all, despite the perceived difficulties.
