Resumo
The objective of the study was to understand the relationships between the myth and
the work practices of the family agroecosystem in the construction of environmental
conservation. From the point of analysis of the practice of environmental
conservation of mythic influence, the study took place in Nova Aliança, a community
belonging to the municipality of Benjamin Constant, Alto Solimões, Amazonas, Brazil.
The research adopted the systemic complexity approach, linked to interactions as
being dependent on the triad, interrelationship, system and organization. The method
used was the Case Study, which based on the techniques and instruments used the
direct observation, the cultural track, the cultural map and the interview with a prior
script. The Kokama people of Nova Aliança have their sociocultural representations
about creation and environmental conservation processes supported by mythical
ancestry. Sociocultural representations of creation are understood by the kokama
creation myth. In this perspective, the sociocultural representations about the
processes of environmental conservation that focused on the work practices also
result from the creation myth. The myth brought the light, the day, to the observation
of the ecosystem, which also one of the divine creations must be respected and
maintained undamaged by kokama and other peoples. In this way, alimentary
security and the work with conservation practices in the construction and
maintenance of the family agro-ecosystem complex are representations understood
from the kokama creation myth. This enabled a productive system that did not cause
damage to the ecosystem, since the mythical imaginary represented and directed to
the elaboration of an ethno-know from the experiences constructed along the
centuries. In this sense, it was possible to conclude that the productive units of Nova
Alianca were constructed and are maintained from the mythical representations
present in the kokama imaginary that made possible through the experiments, to
elaborate an ethno-know or ethno-knowledge, which, in turn, generated ethnoconservation. Thus, the conservation practices used in agroecosystem work, by the
present study, are considered of mythical influence.
