Resumo

This study examined the expectations of students who completed high school by the modality of Education Youth and Adults (EJA) and the reasons that led them to not continue their studies in higher education. The research involved students graduating in 2012, the State School Teachers Monteiro Lobato Boa Vista in Roraima, students who completed the basic education and adult education are already in higher education, and ends with the advisor Division of Youth and Adult- DIEJA in Roraima. The nature of this research was qualitative methodological procedures using semi-structured interviews and participant observation, used as instrumental to the questionnaire. As a result of this investigation arose marginalization, lack of preparation of teachers of adult education and working life of these students as factors that hinder continuity in higher education. be. It was identified as occurred in the educational high school students in these eighteen months, the methodology of teachers, their difficulties in reconciling work and study are the secondary objectives. The categories were used: Work, Education and Culture. These three categories analyzed are intertwined with the subjects that were investigated. Points that emerged from this work-suffering marginalization of students in basic education and adult education that accompanies the university, the unpreparedness of the teacher of this type, the difficulty of teachers of natural sciences to relate the knowledge that students take the EJA to the room with the theoretical knowledge that the school teaches the difficulty of studies by students of adult education in the light of professional activity. Studying beyond the contents transferred into classrooms is a prerequisite for entry into higher education for both alumni of EJA, and for those who are finalists for the high school. The admission of students in higher education EJA is actually new in this sport, which has always been associated with literacy, now takes another configuration with the way these students to universities.
