Resumo
The agribusiness presents itself as one of the main alternatives for the development of regional municipalities in the state of Amazonas. Among the various branches of business one can highlight is the production chain involving the fishing industry that, in general, has always been integrated with the customs and economy of the state of Amazonas. Directly linked to fishing activity has been the fish processing industry , which has the ability to add value to raw fish, even expanding to other markets, besides the local market. Taking into account this problem, this study aims to study the structural constraints that impose barriers on the growth of the fish processing industry of the Amazon. Thus, it takes as a reference theoretical texts dealing with agribusiness as a sector of the economy and inter-relations with several threads of the most diverse sectors possible. The method of analysis is the use of statistical data and application of questionnaires and the use of a statistical model for projection. The results show that electric power is not the main limiting factor for the growth of the fish-processing industry and that not all companies in the sector have foreign markets as their main focus. Finally, the study came to the conclusion that the business sector tends to have the same behavior as their market strategy, target customers and the production, that energy represents rather a cost then a limitation and that the level of satisfaction of companies with its storage capacity is satisfactory.
