Digestibilidade de ingredientes energéticos e proteicos em dietas para tracajá (Podocnemis unifilis, Troschel 1848)

Resumo

The present study aimed to determine the apparent digestibility coefficients (ADC) of nutrients and energy and apparent availability coefficients of mineral material of two energetic ingredients, corn and wheat bran, and two protein ingredients, soybean meal and meat meal and bones in Podocnemis unifilis (turtle) with a mean weight of 119.57 ± 17.94 g and average length of the carapace of 90.23 ± 5.25 cm. For determining the apparent digestibility coefficients and apparent availability coefficients was used to control diet based on casein, gelatin, dextrin, α-cellulose and carboxymethyl cellulose, with the inert tracer chromium oxide (III). The test diets, containing the ingredients to be tested were prepared following the proportion of 70% in the control diet and 30% of test ingredient. Sixty animals were distributed in twelve experimental aquaria, where the collections were made from fecal material with the aid of a hollow glass rod through siphoning every two hours. Diets were fed once daily at 10 am, in twelve boxes of food where turtles remained for 1 hour and then returned to the experimental aquaria. The experimental design was completely randomized with three replications and four test diets for test ingredients energy, corn and wheat bran. The same experimental design was used in the digestibility trial with protein ingredients, soybean meal and meat and bone meal. The mean values of ADC of dry matter, crude protein, ether extract and gross energy were: corn 74.81%, 84.19%, 71.31% and 76.90%, 56.63% wheat bran, 85 , 24%, 69.36% and 64.66%, soybean meal 76.45%, 93.00%, 78.00%, 82.65% and meat and bone meal 83,% 18, 94,% 16, 84, 38% and 90.33%. Apparent availability coefficients of mineral material were: 41.35% maize and wheat bran 92.45%. The values of apparent digestibility coefficients indicated that the energetic ingredients, corn and wheat bran can compose diets of P. unifilis with up to two years without decreasing the digestive efficiency of these animals. The same can be concluded from protein ingredients, soybean meal and meat and bone meal.
