Avaliação do processo de beneficiamento da madeira em três segmentos da indústria florestal

Abstract

This work evaluated the wood processing since logging until the final product in three industrial segments in Amazonas being two in Manaus and one in Itacoatiara. The grading set was: box, plywood and saw timber industries being all processes analyzed. Data assessment was carried out through inventory; box and plywood industries had monthly data collection and saw timber had it yearly. Data were organized and then analyzed. Yield is the same of other works but confirms the low value of the forest segment in Amazonas region. The results were: box industry presented yield of 57, 93% and residue of 42, 07%; plywood presented yield of 51, 54% and residue of 48, 46% and saw timber had yield of 38, 43% and residue of 61, 57% respectively. The residues were slab, edgings, sawdust and cores. It is important to enlighten that industries have been searching ways to avoid wasting according to their financial and logistitical conditions.
