Os salesianos no processo de profissionalização no Amazonas: do Rio Negro a Manaus

Resumo

The research aims to identify, through Salesian education, the process of socialization, religion and professionalization in Amazonas in the period from 1970 to 2019, based on the vocational education at Pro-Minor Don Bosco. According to the categories listed, the propositions refer us to the concept of civilizing process in different contexts of formation that presents itself as a modality that assigns parameters and are configured according to the time, establishing aspects of social differentiation, power relations between State and Church as well as the professionalization that is at the heart of the issue at the featured institution. The research is consistent with the institutionalization of the legal frameworks portrayed by LDB Professional Education, which covers the development of vocational education and the religious influence in the Salesian institution that triggered the local culture of the population in Amazonas. As for the methodology, bibliographic research with a qualitative approach was used, field research with ethnographic procedures and statistical treatment in the analysis and interpretation of data under study. The research helped us to weave an understanding of the practices in favor of young people in social vulnerability within the scope of the research site, in terms of the object of study to verify the process of professionalization performed by the Salesians in Amazonas.
