Resumo

The study aimed to know the main Seroepidemiological profile of infections caused by the hepatitis B virus (HBV), hepatitis C (HCV) and human immunodeficiency (HIV) in health care professionals working in services for hemodialysis in the city of Manaus. We included 72 health professionals who perform direct care to patients and are exposed to blood from hemodialysis. Doctors, nurses and technical nurses who agreed to participate in the study, answered on a personal interview, general questionnaire with questions related to the activities of work and personal life to identify risk factors associated with the transmission of the virus. After the interview blood samples were collected and sent to the HEMOAM identification of serological markers for anti-HBs, anti-HBc and HBsAg for HBV, anti-HCV for hepatitis C virus and anti-HIV for the HIV virus by ELISA. We conducted an observational tour to assess the veracity of the information provided about the use of personal protective equipment. The sample is composed of 4% of doctors, nurses 15% and 81% for nursing technicians, with average age of 33 years and predominantly female (81%), with an average of 5.5 years working in the field of nephrology, 97 % received immunization for HBV, but 4% were shown to be susceptible to infection. All participants reported the use of personal protective equipment, 40% suffered an accident involving biological material, with a predominance of nursing. Ten percent reported for hepatitis history where 71% were shown the presence of serological markers for HBV, sixty-six subjects reported contact with carriers of hepatitis and 63% were positive for markers of HBV, three health professionals (HP) received transfusion blood, 9% have tattoos, 5.5% use or used piercing and 5.5% were subjected to sessions of acupuntura Of the 72 participants, seven (9%) had positive serological markers for anti-HBs and anti-HBc in both cases was applied where specific questionnaire, six (86%) were born in northern Brazil, two (30%) have kinship with carriers of hepatitis (daughter, husband), but unable to tell with certainty what type of hepatitis, one (15%) reported having had hepatitis in adolescence, but could not inform the type of hepatitis. None of the participants knew about the presence of the marker in anti-HBc tests before the study. Not identified HBV infection, HCV and HIV in the group, the vaccine immunization was superior to other similar studies, information obtained about the use of PPE differ from observation by the researcher.
