Resumo

This thesis presents as a study capoeira in Alto Solimões - Amazonas, based on ethnographic work carried out with capoeiristas and their respective capoeira groups. The perspective of multisituated ethnography was used, with the intitude of identifying nuances around the phenomenon and in the places of action of the agents. The assumptions of this approach are oriented to the analysis of capoeira and groups in cities in the upper Solimões, the relevance of the body in this practice and the action of capoeiristas through the establishment of social interactions. The capoeiristas studied are Brazilians, poor, black, indigenous, but also foreigners, in different contexts of construction of social identities. The research explores subjective dimensions, from the actions of its adherents, who lead actions in rituals, ceremonies, capoeira wheels and game. The apprehension of these multiple situations and experiences of capoeiristas, called by them as "the world of capoeira", allows to visualize processes of construction of collective identities, including stigmatization of this practice. . On the other hand, it also seeks to highlight actions of agents and local groups, such as educational and cultural institutions, aimed at promoting capoeira in the Triple Frontier.
