Entre a fixação e a mobilidade: um estudo das percepções territoriais de agrupamentos indígenas e não indígenas e das intervenções estatistas no rio Cuieiras (Baixo Rio Negro)

Abstract

This research presents a relation between the forms of perception and subjectivation of the territory between indigenous and non - indigenous communities located in the Cuieiras River and the interventions of state territorial planning. Through an ethnographic approach, I analyze how the appropriation of the social space offers subsidies to think of the mobility of the territory. I use the resource from the perspective of socio-space, where physical and mental spaces are in constant tension and cannot be apprehended separately, resulting in an understanding of space and society within a dialectical relationship. Thus, material and symbolic are within the same dimension, trying to resolve any dualistic view about spaces. This path seems to problematize consolidated forms in the disciplinary fields, and it seems to be the direction of the research’s participant’s discourses, who present a relational, hybrid, mobile and multiple territory perceptions. Contrary to this way of conceiving the territory are the state agencies of territorial planning, with a more immobile, stratified and controllable perspective. Their interventions reveal a need for capture and control, hindering the mobilities from territorial fixation logic. Therefore, the other ways existence to dwell may produce reflections on the tension between modernity and tradition, the diversity presence as an obstacle to the national project, amid its continuous movements of flight and resistance, which is not always a reaction to the interventions, however part of its own way of existing. .
