Sentidos de sexualidade entre idosas: discutindo participação, emancipação e gênero

Abstract

This study intended to analyze and understand the meanings of sexuality assigned by elderly users of a Center for Integrated Manaus-Am. By understanding that the need for this issue to be worked on critical and political perspective, promoting dialogical participation of the elderly, with a view to awareness as well as building their autonomy and emancipation of sexual freedom. Was taken as the overall objective: To understand the meanings of sexuality among the elderly, users of a Care Centre for Elderly in Manaus / AM. Specific objectives identify the meanings that attach to elderly sexuality in old age and to analyze how processes of social constructions influence the directions made by the elderly and their existing joints between the life story of the elderly and the meanings produced on Sexuality. Adopted the vision of man from the perspective of socio-historical theory proposed by Vygotsky, consisting of autonomy, where the elderly becomes responsible for its own process of individuation. Life history interviews for data collection were performed. Subsequently, a corpus was created and analysis was used and the analysis technique called core meanings for understanding the senses. Data is articulated into two sections, according to the specific objectives of the research, resulting in a total of 07 cores meanings. In the “A” section 03 cores emerged: I thank God because my husband failed: sex as an obligation; I no longer have that urge: to blame the disease and I'm eager to have sex: I still like! In the second section “B” emerged 04 cores: well tweaked Heart: passion in old age; It's not just sex: we seek a friendship; Shame associated with sex and sexuality hygienist: sex following normative standards. Therefore, it is important to consider that there is interest in psychology has a more detailed look about sexuality in the elderly, promoting discussion of issues such as: dating in old age; sex in old age; masturbation, especially in the context of women who have historically repressed and silenced his sexuality. The data show positive for assigning senses. The methods used in the research were efficient, because it was possible to identify the units of meaning to the apprehension of the senses. The results can be considered satisfactory for research, by providing data that could be analyzed and discussed from a critical perspective of psychology, not merely an organicist vision of human development, but with an emphasis on psychosocial processes of the subjecT
