Resumo

Fishing for shrimp Macrobrachium amazonicum (Heller .1862) occurred in the community of salvation in the Alenquer city, Pará State, in the Amazon is Bass played by women. This fishing has changed daily, with meanings the main source of income for the families of these fishers. Women of the floodplains are pluriactives; carry out activities on land and in the water to ensure the survival of their families, as well as in other rural communities in the Amazon. Among the activities carried out by them to the income guarantee are raising chickens, growing vegetables and planting of short cycles. Fishing for shrimp in the Amazonian context can understood as an adaptive strategy that led women to exploitation of the environment as a way of survival. Through the work of the fishing, fishers have direct contact with the environment in which they live and, thus, are responsible for environmental changes daily. In relation to the fishers of shrimp, we reached conclusion that the so-called invisibility, occurs in two ways: a occurs on the part of those who look outside, the State, is the academic order, but their population, you don't notice the shrimp fishing as a work that demands time of women and is moved by meanings. Another is the strategic invisibility, which rises in own community as a way to continue performing fishing work informally. Our methodology used the qualitative approach with the focus on Ethnomethodology. We base ourselves in studies of Alencar (2011; 2013), Diógenes (2014), Gerber (2015), Lima (2014), Maneschy (1995), Simonian (2003) e Scherer (2015; 2009; 2012). Field research, held in 2016 and 2017, which involved observation, autobiographical narratives, interviews and, when permitted, photographic records and audio recordings, consented to bring us to the academic discussion on gender issues in fishing, contained in the Amazon woman, and, especially, the meanings of work.
