A mediação cultural articulações entre a pinacoteca do Amazonas e o professor de artes

Abstract

The present research work has as general objective to understand how the cultural mediation carried out by the Pinacoteca museum of the State of Amazonas participates in the educational action of art-educators in the city of Manaus. In this investigative field, the specificities of the cultural policy developed as mediation in the exhibition spaces of the Pinacoteca with the art educators moved us as well as their experience in the museum with their groups of students. This is a field research whose hypothesis raised initially considered that, in the case of the Pinacoteca do Amazonas museum, the main collection of works of visual arts in the State, with a collection of more than three thousand works, more than 260 of paintings and works in installation on permanent exhibition for the general public, this museum appears as the main mediating institution for plastic arts in the city, which would reach the work of the art educator, a professional who has in the museum and art galleries your “laboratory”. As a result, we found that despite the Pinacoteca's historical legacy in collecting and disseminating visual arts and its wide art collection, this still remains with a reserved participation at least in the northern part of the city, where the research has focused, despite its potential and importance. The research was carried out in the premises of the Pinacoteca do Amazonas, from where data was collected about the mediating relationship with the educational public and in schools in the northern part of the city, where we had the experience of following the educational action of an art teacher working in this area. peripheral area of the city.
