Abstract

This dissertation makes the description and analysis of musical life in the city of Manaus in the 1960s. It was a decade of political, economic and social developments in Brazil and worldwide, and the city of Manaus also received these changes according to your space and your story. Newspaper, radio and cinema helped define the musical spaces, defining tastes and behaviors. The relations between them allowed the musical life in Manaus had a significant development in artistic training and technical artist. The radio and cinema were predominant vehicles for artistic training at this time. The interrelationships between these vehicles have motivated many young people to perform voiceovers in the clubs of the city, which led to the organization of Dub Festival in 1965 and 1966.
