Resumo

This dissertation makes the description and analysis of musical life in the city of Manaus in the 1960s. It was a decade of political, economic and social developments in Brazil and worldwide, and the city of Manaus also received these changes according to your space and your story. Newspaper, radio and cinema helped define the musical spaces, defining tastes and behaviors. The relations between them allowed the musical life in Manaus had a significant development in artistic training and technical artist. The radio and cinema were predominant vehicles for artistic training at this time. The interrelationships between these vehicles have motivated many young people to perform voiceovers in the clubs of the city, which led to the organization of Dub Festival in 1965 and 1966. Event that shook the city of Manaus. Mobilized clubs and artists and sponsors was to trade, and the record store Hard News. The analysis of this research had the triad as a theoretical critique of Theodor Adorno, the culture industry as: choice, disclosure and effect. This triad will be displayed and analyzed critically, through everyday social life and musical city of Manaus-1960s. The Festival was an event Dubbing articulated by record labels and store discs that acted in this Festival with profit goals. However, the artists were aware of the objectives of the cultural industry due to the festival, but also aspired to fame and recognition. Consequently, the Festival was an economical alternative Dubbing used to publicize the record labels and trade, called the musical taste and dissemination of cultural Americanization in 1960 in Manaus
