Resumo

The Lauraceae family has a pantropical distribution containing about 50 genera, with approximately 3000 species. The Licaria genus has about 38 species distributed from southern Florida, Mexico to southwestern Brazil and Bolivia. In studies with Lauraceae species, the presence of neolignans, triterpenes, sesquiterpenes, lignans and alkaloids is reported. The species Licaria aritu presents only a single chemical composition study with reports of neolignans. In order to contribute to the chemical study of this family and of the Licaria genus, Licaria aritu wood was submitted to phytochemical analysis, with the objective of isolating secondary metabolites with antifungal potential. Thus, the L. aritu extracts were fractionated in chromatographic columns, from which a β-sitosterol steroid, three α-cadinol sesquiterpenes and a mixture of ent-T-muurolol and (-) - T-muurolol epimers were isolated. neolignans eusiderin A e (7S, 8R, 1'R, 4'S, 5'R) -1'-allyl-4'-hydroxy-3,3',5'-trimethoxy-4,5-methylenedioxyphenyl-7-methylbicycles [3.2.1]oct-2'-en-6'-one, identified by means of unidimensional 1H, 13C, DEPT and bidimensional NMR analysis (HSQC and HMBC). Of the isolated substances were tested on the fungi: Candida albicans and Cryptococcus gatti the α-cadinol sesquiterpenes the ent-T-muurolol and (-) - T-muurolol epimers mixture and the eusiderin A neolignan, with the exception of eusiderin A, all showed moderate activity by the broth microdilution technique.
