A Jornada e Redenção de Edward Elric: uma análise literária e interpretação psicológica de Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood (anime japonês)

Abstract

Edward Elric's Journey and Redemption is an objective reflection on the subjective empiricism of reading Hiromu Arakawa's work. To this end, borrowing approaches from the Bildungsroman Novels, the literary analysis was focused on individual and social problems and how they were progressively disposed towards the narrated growth of the main character. Ed starts the story with a personal problem and in an attempt to solve it, he finds problems inherited from thousands of years ago, which would take on cosmic proportions. The synchrony of these dilemmas, initially distant, requires a constitutive path richly described in Fullmetal Alchemist. Since such maturation has an intimately psychic matter, the interpretative steps for the text were based on Complex Psychology as an understanding of world and psychic functioning. The psychology in artistic production and in the formation of the protagonist's personality-solution complete one scientific understanding regarding the complex phenomenon (rational and irrational; intellectual and sentimental; aesthetic and significant) transmitted in the work.
