Resumo
The synthesized calcined clay was studied, as coarse aggregate, replacing the pebble in asphalt mixtures for asphalt concrete. It aims to find alternative materials to use in pavements for the city of Manaus. Also participated in the bituminous composite the binder AC 50/70, marketed in the Amazon region, sand (fine aggregate) and portland cement (filler). The grain size of the mixture followed the method of Bailey, with the goal of providing a better interlocking of particles. The mechanical behavior was analyzed according to the testing of tensile strength (RT), the resilient modulus (MR) and fatigue, with temperature variation, in order to also check the behavior in service. The results showed, in general, higher values for mixtures with clay aggregates, compared to the natural aggregate composite.
