Abstract

The text research product of this dissertation titled - There is a space between memory and history, holder of the thematic proposal. Brief procedural analysis of the social memory, history and Manauara identity between the years 1870 to 2016 around the Municipal Hall, under the Eliasian perspective of remembrance and forgetfulness. It sought as general objective to elaborate a historical interpretation under the Eliasian perspective of the identity of the Manauara, between the years of 1870 to 2016, with the Municipal Hall as a reference. The historical construction carried out through the analytical interpretation of the municipal policies triggered by the Municipal Cultural Foundation, regarding the revitalization of the public space called the Paço da Liberdade, in specific, and the Passo a Paço project between the years of 2012 and 2016 in dialogue with historical events occurred in the city of Manaus. The research underwent three cuts, in the first, the research seeks to understand the meaning of the term memory for neuroscience, in the second, the research makes a relationship between the role of memory in the Eliasian theory, in the third moment, analyzes and synthesizes the process of elaboration of identity symbols and fourth, elaborates and narrates a symbolic biography of the construction from the perspective of Italian microhistory and indicates the analyzed space for the elaboration of the Museum of the city of Manaus.
