Resumo
The contribution of this text aims to understand the relationship between space, federalism and citizenship, and how the geographic dimension can be approached in such an apparently immaterial concept. Since its institutionalization as a science and discipline of geography, the dimension of political phenomena has not clearly shown the character of spatiality, reaching the point where many do not understand the political character of geography. The need for these new themes shapes an extremely interesting agenda for geography, the closer relationship between space and politics. Citizenship is, and will be, an interesting topic for geographers, as the understanding of the spatiality of these phenomena is essential to change the conception that a territorial base and infrastructure are not interconnected. Federalism is presented as the basis of the organization of the state and government(s), which, through federative territories, create instruments for this citizenship to be promoted and specialized, covering the space served. Faces of the purposeful nature of the state, mainly as an enabling agent of social rights, will be the focus within the analysis from the territory, where we will demonstrate from the regionalization of health care and the spatiality of this public service in the State of Amazonas.
