Resumo
The dialogue between memory, narrative and place constitutes the objective of this work. It deals with two sets of sources: oral narratives and material culture. The narratives have as their theme the riverside imaginary of the Agrovila community, in Manaus - AM. The objective is to analyze the meanings of social, individual and collective practices, in the oral narratives of the residents of Agrovila, as well as the relationship between the imaginary and the material culture of the place. The methodological procedures used were qualitative research, bibliographic research and oral history. The Agrovila community houses an archaeological site of a hitherto unidentified indigenous culture. The artifacts are collected by the residents themselves and assembled in an archaeological room. The memory and narratives of the residents are born from the experiences of the findings and create a collective imagination. The results were that: the history of the Agrovila community is constituted by means of museological narratives; the feeling of belonging to the place and the preservation of history and memory show the meanings of the identity of the residents of Agrovila.
