O método DEA como proposição de melhorias para o APL madeira móveis do amazonas: o caso PROMOVE

Abstract

Under such influences the furniture industry has introduced new forms of cooperation between companies, such as product licensing, joint ventures, among others. In this context the introduction of new automated equipment with new business management techniques contributed to increased productivity in the furniture industry and the flexibility of production processes. Thus, the Brazilian furniture industry also absorbed these influences, with many companies using the licensing of foreign products as needed to modernize its manufacturing facilities. However according to the IBGE, in a report published by the FIEP / CIEP / SESI / SENAI / IEL1 (2000), the Brazilian furniture industry is made up of 13,500 micro, small and medium enterprises, totally national capital, concentrated mostly in south-central region of the country, constituting in some states furniture makers poles, like Bento Gonçalves in Rio Grande do Sul, Sao Bento do Sul, Santa Catarina, Arapongas Paraná, Mirassol, in the state of São Paulo, Uba in Minas among others . The study proposes the identification, collection, analysis and data classification - descriptive exploratory method with the APL PROMOVE (Program of Amazonas School Furniture Regionalization), depending on the application of DEA method (Data Enveloping Analysis) on results display of performance efficiency of the furniture makers attend up to production sectors, in the operations of cutting and shaping of the components of furniture that influence the utilization of their benefits and individual and collective competitive advantages, considering partnership with the state government, linking the production of furniture to the demand supply of SEDUC (Secretary of Education of the Amazon).
