Resumo
Choriro consists of one of the most expressive works of Ungulani Ba Ka Khosa. In it,
the author rebuilds the African history through literature, parodying historical speeches
produced by Europeans over centuries of colonization. For this, Ungulani brings up
social conflicts between the Mozambican communities, showing the role of women in
African society, as well as the shock suffered by the cultures and traditions of the
continent when touched by the European. Such elaboration is developed through the
questioning of historical knowledge built through a parodic narrative, evidenced by
ironies that punctuate, through its edges, the dimishment of African identities and the
enhancement of the Portuguese culture, language and identity. This research will show
how Ungulani introduces readers to a new historical version, which does not deny the
knowledge already built, but it shows that there are aspects that have been eliminated
and are noteworthy for being place of belonging to Africans.
