Resumo
The objective of this study was to elaborate educational didactic material for the Teaching of
Environmental Sciences on the familiar agroecosystems in the Alto Rio Solimões region. The
study was conducted in the New Alliance community, in the municipality of Benjamin Constant, AM. In the Methodological Strategy the location and characterization of the New
Alliance Community is presented. The research modality used was the case study, since,
among the several existent strategies, it allows the analysis of complex problems, using for
this, multiple research techniques. Thus, those used in the fieldwork operation were: field
diary, on-site observation and interviews with previous itinerary. The analyzes of the data
were qualitative and quantitative. The analysis and interpretation of the data resulted in three
sub-chapters originating from the specific objectives. It begins with the subchapter
Environmental History of the New Covenant Community. In this paper we present and
discuss the data on the process of migration of families from Peru and the implementation /
foundation of the community and adaptation strategies in the locality. In the second chapter -
Production and food production of family agro-ecosystems, in which the forms of production,
production and consumption of food in the family units are approached through the
interviewees' reports, an understanding of the organization and development of the work in
the unit of production. Similarly, the products consumed in the diet were listed. In the Third
Chapter- Monetary income from agricultural and non-agricultural activities, the categories
and activities for obtaining income in family units from agricultural and non-agricultural
activities are presented. In the Final Considerations are presented the main findings of the
study and reflections on the importance of family agroecosystems for the survival of family
farmers and conservation of environmental resources in the Upper Rio Solimões region.
