Memórias, narrativas e identidades: trajetórias de vida de mulheres do Alto Solimões (1940-1970)

Resumo

The following research´s theme is travel for women in the Amazon. How do we define population displacement in the Amazon in places where there is a fluid and open boarder? Is there travel in the Amazon region of Northern Brazil in Alto Solimoes? We seek to answer these questions and others by analyzing oral sources, using the guidelines of oral history methodology. For this, we interviewed six women who personally experienced travel in the Amazon during the mid-20th century. Their memory reconstruction process allows us to understand their personal experiences of traveling from their communities to the city of Santo Antonio do Ica, Amazonas. When we recover aspects of the stories of these historic trips from their memory reconstruction process, it is possible to understand the historicity of the space between the communities and the city in the Amazon. One of the objectives of this study is to understand the travel experiences of each woman and the routes taken in Alto Solimoes. Thus we can understand the fundamental element of travel from the perspective of a female protagonist. The historical reconstruction of these routes can be recovered through self-narratives and narratives about the identities of the Amazonian women.
