5 The attributions assumed and the relationships based on the immediacy triggered by the constant use of the internet submit the individual to various stressors, especially considering the university context. This research sought to use Surface Design to interfere in a spatiality, making it immersive, where university students could relieve their tensions. The methodology studied the concepts of Surface Design, with a focus on braiding, and Spatiality to find the sensory aspects that are important for the development of a calming and immersive environment. Thus, requirements were established and similar products were studied for the generation of alternatives, which were pre-selected and modeled on cardboard to test possible ways of fitting and rapport. Selection criteria were established for choosing the best alternative, which was developed and submitted to a standard test. In order for it to be validated by specialists in the areas of Psychology, Architecture and Design, the generated standard was digitally applied to an UFAM environment. The validation took place through an online psychometric form using the calculation of the Average Ranking (RM), proposed by Oliveira (2005), to observe the agreement in relation to the proposed statements. Results with RM in 3 were considered null, those above 3 were in agreement and those below 3 were in disagreement. Claims that the texture incited unpleasant sensations had an RM below 3, that is, discordant. The questions that stated that the texture generated pleasant sensations had an RM above 3, in agreement. As for the statements that alluded to the seabed, the RM was 3, demonstrating an inconclusive assessment. With such results it was concluded that with Surface Design it is possible to create an environment with immersive and calming potential inside the university.
