Abstract

It discusses the use of scientific and technological information for the innovation process, given the various sources of information available. It points out issues related to the large volume and flow of available information, use of reliable information sources, resources and use in the university, constituting a broad contribution to the construction of knowledge, together with other knowledge-producing institutions. It examines the concepts of technological information sources for innovation and information skills. It identifies, through a bibliographic survey, the most accessible and available sources for the engineering areas. It adopts as a methodological approach the bibliographic research and field research with professors from the Faculty of Technology of the Federal University of Amazonas (UFAM), who develop research projects registered in the Pro-Rectory of Research and Graduate Studies (PROPESP), with the aim of identify the sources of information used and compare with those that are available in order to generate a Guide to Sources of Technological Information in Engineering to favor the innovation process, through research.
