Identidade de adolescentes em uma Unidade de Internação e Semiliberdade Feminina na cidade de Manaus

Abstract

The juvenile female infraction has been neglected for a long time by scientific studies. This work aimed to understand the identity of female adolescents in a socio-educational center in the city of Manaus/AM. The main objective of the research was to understand how the identity of these adolescents was constructed through their life histories and the processes imbricated, as the consequences/repercussions of the infraction act regarding identity. The epistemological basis for this study was the socio-historical approach. The participants in this study were 4 (four) female adolescents. The qualitative research had as instruments the semi-structured interview and the sociodemographic questionnaire. For the analysis of the data, the life history narrative proposed by Ciampa (1987) was used, with the perspective of the syntagma Identity-Metamorphosis-Emancipation. In addition, we adopted the theoretical-methodological framework of the Net of Meanings that seeks to understand the meanings attributed by the subjects, providing significant subsidies to fill the gaps in the analysis of the narrative of life history. In this way, the following results were obtained from the analysis of life histories: history of losses; abandonment; precarious family support and/or significant figures; beginning in the infraction practice because of relatives, companions or friends; early use of narcotics; school and other institutions little present in the lives of adolescents, etc. It is expected that with this research that the adolescents interviewed reflect on their life histories and, therefore, could construct/weave narratives not associated to the criminal act. At the same time, it is expected to contribute to the researches in the area, considering that there are few studies with female adolescents in the socio-educational system.
