Resumo
The indigenous schools have long developed a pedagogical practice that aimed to bring the Indians to relinquish their culture and their language, helping to wipe out the ethnic and cultural diversity of Brazil. Through the struggles indigenous peoples have won the right to remain as distinct ethnic and cultural group. The study provides a reflection on the formal education process developed in Schools Indigenous Tikuna "Ebenezer" and "Wonderful", located in the town of Benjamin Constant, Alto Solimões - AM. This study aimed to determine whether the central teaching and learning in these schools is being developed to provide Tikuna Indians, a specific and differentiated education that enables the ethnic and cultural affirmation of that people, such as establishing the legal dictates. For improved delivery of research define some guiding questions that corroborated as to tread more firmly the way: What is the meaning of school education for the Indians Ticuna? Under what conditions is developed the teaching / learning process in schools "Ebenezer" and "Wonder"? What challenges exist in the process of realization of special education, differentiated, intercultural and quality? In ethnographic research as defined, we adopt a position phenomenology and hermeneutic-dialectic and the data collected through observations and semi-structured interviews were given a qualitative approach. The data collected allowed us to say that there are significant advances in the teaching / learning in schools and Ebenezer Wonder, as is the case: the introduction of courses in the curriculum: Language Tikuna and Art and Culture; Indigenous bilingual teacher training, teaching developed by Tikuna teachers from the community. Besides, some barriers to internal and external must be overcome so that the indigenous education Tikuna be done within a cultural perspective, or transforming, and even within the perspective of redemption found in the speeches of the research subjects. The first steps were taken, but the hike, our understanding is still quite long.
