Aspectos constitutivos do engajamento e participação de jovens em coletivos socioambientais na região metropolitana de Manaus/AM

Abstract

The environmental engagement it has been a strategy quite evident among young people. Several youth groups act with interest attached for environmental issues. This dissertation investigated the constitutive aspects this mobilization, participation and experiences in vision of young people. This research of qualitative approach, descriptive exploratory, was developed starting of descriptive exploratory with sociodemographic questions, questions about emotions, interest and concern about the environmental respect. Investigated the types of beliefs governing this socio-environmental behavior by means of social scales.Besides that, analyzed the forms of involvement in the group and the individuals and socials devices involved in effectiveness of the action in socio-environmental groups.Were interviewed 19 young (8F and 11 M), with 16 to 29 years old, living in Manaus-AM metropolitan region, members of four socio-environmental groups.The results showed the environmental concern is create for many factors as direct experiences with environmental and contribution of important people as family members. Though be on the entree in the group as the socio-environmental engagement forms effectively. This youth’s participation and engagement formed a significant experience in your lives giving empowerment, personal development and responsibility. In spite of many benefits, group work must deal internally with the characteristics of each member and with external pressures from different social and environmental contexts.
