Uma leitura da performance de fanzineiros na cidade de Manaus-Amazonas

Abstract

This ethnography approaches the performance of fanzineiros in Manaus, individuals who produce artistic materials and distribute them throughout the city. In certain areas of Manaus' downtown, it is possible to observe them selling face-to-face their authorial, artistic / literary material, printed, in most cases in B & W, called fanzine or zine. The content of the material is poetry, short stories, reviews, drawings, comics, "whatever you want". Of the size and volume "you want to". It can be done by handwriting or typed, allows the error and may not follow the standard reading order. The research was conducted through observations in the city center, on UFAM - the college- and on Av. Djalma Batista, one of the main access routes to the central zone that has intense traffic of pedestrians and automobiles, where I was able to follow the few fanzineiros in activity at the moment , but mainly through interviews. The interviews were carried out with twenty fanzineiros and among these, there was an extra interview with nine of them with the objective of constructing their ethnobiographies, that is an ethnography of the biography of these individuals with a snippet turned to how to be a fanzineira or fanzineiro, including it's performances. I consider performance as a marker of identities through experienced behaviors, it also refers to posture, gestures, linguistic symbols, the variation of the tone of the voice, the appearance, in short, the handling of the impressions transmitted and captured by the fanzineiro and it's "public". In this research I was able to investigate about my own performance as a fanzineiro and of the other fanzineiros' performances, as well as of the potential clients. I believe that there are associations between performance, personal formation as a self and urban space, once the field appears as a context of the practice involving the fanzine, considering that the performance of the fanzineiro, on a large scale, is inscribed in these urban spaces, involving relations in which the gift is one of the forms of exchange.
