Resumo
The academic sphere has been the target of numerous transformations in the contemporary world, with developments that have reached the subjective dimension of masters and doctoral students, especially with the intensification of productivism. Thus, this dissertation aims to understand the subjective dimension of the work of postgraduate students of a federal university located in the city of Manaus / AM, starting from the theoretical-methodological foundations of Psychodynamics of Work, developed by Christophe Dejours. This particular theory considers that the meaning attributed by workers to a given work situation is fundamental to understand the experiences of pleasure and suffering, in the face of the real work and the organization of work. In this sense, it is through reflection and speech that postgraduate students can boost the necessary mobilization to transform the experiences of suffering at work in experiences of pleasure. This research uses qualitative method and will use the Constant Comparison Method - MCC for data analysis. Data collection was conducted through individual interviews using semi-structured script, which were recorded in audio, transcribed, and analyzed. Participants were 13 (thirteen) graduate students stricto sensu, master's or doctoral degree. The results allowed us to know the face of the academic work in the researched locus, a diffuse comprehension of itself as work, often invisible and precarious, marked by overload, with insufficient and outdated scholarships, sometimes supported only by the symbolic idea of building a project of life. In addition, it was possible to perceive the experiences of pleasure, which were related to the autonomy, the learning, and the possibility of transforming the world through the applicability and usefulness of the researches. But the aggravating factors of suffering include the processes related to writing, excessive demands for excellent publications, the feeling of inadequacy or the fear of not being up to the tasks, the obligatoriness of disciplines that are not central to the researches, the bureaucracies that delay or impede the progress of the research and the uncertainties about the future, whether in teaching or research career. Strategies of mediation such as feeling supported in social relationships inside and outside academic work, physical exercises, meditation, time management, positive attitude and procrastination or inertia it was possible these acts primarily to adapt to work. Finally, pathologies such as anxiety, stress, depression, overweight, migraine or headache, nervous gastritis and even suicidal ideation were flagged in the post-graduation context.
