Produção científica na Amazônia: uma análise de experiências junto a povos e comunidades tradicionais

Abstract

This dissertation entitled "Scientific production in the Amazon: an analysis of experiences with traditional peoples and communities" presents a critical and reflective analysis of the intellectual and scientific contributions produced in the Amazon, with reference to research that has been and is being carried out by public teaching and research institutions. In order to fulfill the purpose corresponding to the process of analyzing the data interpreted here, the object of this work is to investigate the scientific production triggered by the New Social Cartography of the Amazon Project (PNCSA). Therefore, the main objective of the research focused on a critical and reflective analysis with traditional peoples and communities, bringing to an end the initial milestone of these activities that took place in the period 2004/2005, when the PNCSA established its headquarters in the state of Amazonas, starting to contribute to the dissemination of knowledge in the fight for ethnic and territorial rights with these social agents. In order to analyze the data from the empirical research, a quantitative and qualitative survey was carried out of these productions corresponding to the period from 2004-05 to December 2023.This methodological procedure provided a glimpse into the dynamics of the scientific and intellectual construction of the PNCSA, and it was also possible to analyse the process of research relationships that range from the conception of the purposes of Cartography, through the involvement and contribution of the social agent in the context of their politicalorganizational representation, as well as emphasizing the role of the researcher as a facilitating agent for carrying out research in the midst of active records for ethnic and territorial selfaffirmation. Thus, through this conception it was possible to observe how interdisciplinarity permeates the discussion, presenting interpretative nuances when dialoguing with anthropology and sociology, geography and statistics, law, culture, administration, among other areas of knowledge.
